Happy Birthday to ME!

Happy Birthday to ME! - Anna Johnston - www.shenannagans.com

I turned 33 on the weekend. Thirty-three! I reckon it has a nice ring to it. Maybe it’s my lucky number. If the 3 bird poops #YESthree I copped at my B’day picnic are anything to judge by, (they call me ‘Bullseye Johnston the Bird Target’) my luck-o-metre is peaking and I am in for one heck of a fabulous year.

I don’t know at what age it becomes inappropriate to a) Drink Champagne with your breakfast b) Wear a Twilight Tee as a legit item of business attire c) Insist on Birthday Cake or d) Encourage everyone you see on your birthday to awkwardly sing Happy Birthday to you, but 33 aint it! From Momma treating me to birthday breakfast including a bottle of bubbles, to work surprising me with a giant BOOM balloon and lunch with a plate of sexy squid, to my amazing friends and family who arrived with cards, foods, booze, sugar loaded creamy cakes and inappropriate nudey calendars, to the barrage of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram love, my birthday left me with a giant case of warm heart fuzzies.

I’ve noticed some bloggers like to write about themselves on their birthdays and I enjoy reading these (and they always seem to get lots of comments & shares…. hint hint!), so I figured I’d do the same.

Belated birthday wishes – I don’t know how I missed this. 3 bird poops must be a record somewhere. You should have bought a lottery ticket that day.

Wonderful celebration, that’s for sure.

xxoo

Thanks Maureen! 🙂 Appreciate the birthday loves.
Ha… At lunch on Sunday, I was bird target again. Lucky meeeee!

Happy Belated Birthday Miss Anna! I wish I could have been there to help you celebrate. Your friends sound like loads of fun and made your B-day a very fun event. Oh glitter cards are so cool. However, I stopped having B-days a few years ago… LOL I don’t think coffee tastes good unless it is from a mug either. Wishing you an awesome day and sending a hug from across the big pond…

    Anna - February 17, 2015 Reply

Thanks loveliest BAM! Oh the fun we would have if you popped in to help me celebrate my birthday. 🙂
Yep, got me a pretty grand bunch of friends I do.
I say you bring back the day of BAM, although, I can totes make you a glitter fueled card… Just because!
Hugs and love headed your way too. xox

And awesomeness, love that you had a look round my blog.

Happy Happy Birthday to you Anna!!!! I love how you celebrated it and being generous with the 10 facts about yourself!!!
My birthday is on 3rd of the 3rd (and I did make a big deal of having turned 33 last year too with all that “3” milestone ) 😉
Like you, I also dislike clothes that need to be ironed and I also love “Walking on Sunshine” 🙂

    Anna - February 12, 2015 Reply

    Thanks gorgeous lady! 🙂
Wawhoooo, it totes looks like your 33rd year was a wonderful, exciting and action packed one, fingers crossed it is a 33rd year thing in general.

Tim | UrbanDuniya - February 11, 2015 Reply

Yes happy birthday to YOU, you beautiful woman!! I totally get a lot of those ‘secret’ things – like the coffee and the mug!! (although I can make an exception for a latte in a glass!!)

I’ve never broken a bone (touch wood), I can’t handle bananas or baked beans in any form, I don’t like monkeys, petrified of spiders (like I can’t even joke about it). I love insanely hot weather, despite being a blogger I’m a very private person. I used to like horror movies but not so much now, and think Kate Moss is hotter than Beyonce. There, I said it – helloooo haters!

    Anna - February 11, 2015 Reply

You don’t like bananas & monkeys? Really? What about those little and cute monkeys? Spiders, yes… I totes understand that, I checked into a hotel one weekend last Summer due to an invasion of those giant black spiders. #shudder Ha, my time working in London killed any love I had for the baked bean too. And I understand being a private person, even though you share much of your life online. And….. WHAT THE HECK MAN (said in high pitched screechy voice) Seriously, Moss over Beyonce. Mind Blown!

I will turn 43 on Sept. 6 (yes, you are about a decade younger than me) and I hate salmon. Its strong smell nauseates me. 🙂

I had a wonderful day thanks Denise. 🙂
Ha, I dont like much care for cooked salmon, but very much enjoy raw and smoked salmon. 🙂
Hope you are well lovely lady.

Three bird poops in one day is certainly very lucky – I’d be out making the most of every opportunity and also buying up on lotto tix too, if I were you.
I’m looking forward to seeing what this lucky year brings to you.

Anna, my dear sweet friend, what a beautiful post! I am sure I can remember 33 if I think hard enough… Haa haa.

have a beautiful day and awesome weekend ahead.
Love, hugs and kisses to you.

I know it’s a bit late, but Happy Birthday Anna!!! Best wishes for your 33th this year. You really do not look over 30, you are so lucky! Wow, your work is very nice and welcoming, what a party they had for you and look at all those pressies. What a great place to work. I am sure you had a fun time opening all of them 🙂

Chinese lunch and then picnic with chocolates…you were certainly spoilt but it was certainly a special occasion. Speaking of random facts, I do not like ironing one bit either. But now that you say you buy clothes that don’t need ironing, I might do that too…

My birthday is on 1st May, I think it’s pretty cool 😀

    Anna - February 6, 2015 Reply

I really am very spoilt Miss Mabel, and I thank you for the lovely birthday wishes. It is like the birthday that keeps on giving. 🙂
Wawhoooo, adding your birthday to my calendar of events lady, stay tuned for that glitter fueled card.

I wish that this year I was turning 33! What a great age. I loved my 30’s very much. I’m glad you felt so much love on your birthday and what a good idea to start the day with a glass of bubbles. I’ve only ever done that once and that was when I flew business class from here to Brisbane and they offered me a glass as soon as I took my seat. It’s never too early for a drink if you’re in business class! We have a couple of things in common…I too have never broken a bone and I also don’t buy clothes that need to be ironed. Great post! xx

I re-watch the TV series West Wing every year!
Coffee to me doesn’t taste great unless it is served in a mug
I have a YouTube channel, and I still film stuff but have no time to edit!
I love getting my craft on and knitting and quilting!
My favourite flowers are Roes and Gerberas
I buy clothes that I do not have to iron, I DON’T IRON! I was at the shops the other day and tried something on that looked so good, but I would have had to iron it…. sorry no top!
The song “September” is guaranteed to get me up shakin’ my booty!
I was a professional singer before becoming a blogger and a Thermomix consultant, so I would happily sing you Happy Birthday any time you like!!!

OMG we have so much in common. I love unicorns (they’re REAL!!), have never broken a bone and clothes that you have to iron are a mistake because I’m rubbish at ironing. Even my husband does the ironing for me because I am pitiful at it (because sometimes I accidentally buy stuff that needs ironing).

But anyway enough about me, HAPPY 33rd BIRTHDAY awesome girl!! xxx

    Anna - February 6, 2015 Reply

Hahahahaha Lorraine! You are preaching to the choir girlfriend, unicorns are real! 🙂 Apparently we can buy a book about planting a garden to attract unicorns, when I find it, I shall get you a copy too. 🙂
Lucky us never experiencing a bone being broken, and ironing… Bleh, one of the worst things to do… EVA, will add ironing to the list of requirements for my future Mr. LOL! Thanks for the birthday love! xox

Such an amazing birthday!!!!! I’m so sad i missed most of it 🙁 #badfriend 🙁

Thinking about things you don’t know about me is hard…. (you already know my birth date so cant cop out and use that. 20 June just in case…)

Ummmm when I was little I wanted to be a ballerina. I did one year of dancing when I was 7. I hated tap and stopped straight away (the teacher was scary and looked like a witch) but I loved jazz and ballet. However after a year I wanted to start basketball but games clashed with dancing lessons. I had a big choice to make basketball or dancing…

    Anna - February 6, 2015 Reply

Hahaha…. oh you do make me laugh. Thanks for the reminder re your birthday, as if I could forget your birthday woman. Haha! 🙂
I can totes picture you as a ballerina, do you still remember the jazz moves? If yes, teach meeeeee!
