Tell me I’m not alone being that confused, awkward and overwhelmed traveler when seeking coffee in a foreign city?
Caffeine deprived, jittery and fumbling over the cafe menu, feeling forced to deal with the daunting task of understanding the difference between a Ca phe sua da, Eiskaffee or Galao, normally surrendering and resorting to pantomime, pointing at the espresso machine (like a crazed demon lady) in the hopes of getting a cup of something hot, caffeinated and drinkable.
Well my nomadic coffee addicted friends, fear not…. no more shall you have to tackle your travels without coffee, merely existing, lacking that sense of purpose your morning dose gives.
The below tips are just a few ways to get your daily caffeine kicks when on the road:
TAKE YOUR COFFEE MACHINE WITH YOU
Nessy our first addition Nespresso pod coffee machine has experienced the sites and sounds of many a country.
STARBUCKS
Free Wi-Fi…. Need I say more?

HIT UP THE LOCAL SUPERMARKET
It is far from what you crave, but enough to fulfill a basic chemical dependency until you can find the good stuff. You will find varying types of instant, or instant with powdered milk and sugar premixed (3 in 1). Super Coffee was a life saver the first morning we were in Singapore.
MCDONALDS
Caffeinated mediocrity right here, but bless the worldwide strict guidelines on producing a consistently bad product.
When all else fails…..
HEAD TO THE NEAREST BAR AND ORDER A SHOT OF KAHLUA COFFEE LIQUEUR
I’d love to know how you get your daily caffeine kicks when on the road?
