When I first arrived at Daydream Island I remember writing myself a mental list of all of the different things I wanted to do whilst here. Snorkelling, ocean rafting, kayaking, paragliding, skydiving and of course…. eating and drinking all the local delights because eating and drinking is totally a leisure activity, right?
Being someone who enjoys ticking things off my bucket list, I jumped at the chance to escape to Dent Island, a 10 minute ferry ride from Hamilton Island in a little place they call the Whitsundays, aka, heaven.
Some of the Events Team from Hamilton and Daydream Islands got together for the day to explore Dent Island and lunch at The Clubhouse.
WOW! #lovewhitsundays
I am not a golfer. But if you are a golfer then your Whitsunday adventures must include Dent Island which has been turned into a full golf course. Dent Island is extremely hilly, which I would think would be a drawback for golfing but what do I know? The hillyness… real word, gives you the opportunity to take in the most breathtaking views of the Whitsundays and beyond.
But if golfing isn’t really your idea of fun then the $69.00 Clubhouse 2 course lunch is another Dent Island highlight, and includes a tour of the island on golf buggies and lots of photo opportunities.
Note the fancy-pancy long tall glasses of G&T in hand!
Touring one of the world’s most picturesque golf courses from the comfort of our golf buggies.
All rostered days off should totes include a little shop talk, a lot of girl talk and much laughter. Medicine for the soul!
Seared scallops served with pork jowl and jamón crisps, on a celery root puree with pickled apples… #getinmybelly
Char grilled teriyaki salmon with pineapple gel and a pickled baby beetroot salad… #bestmealof2016
Sticky date pudding with hokey pokey and salted caramel ice cream, butterscotch sauce and a walnut crumb… #bowchickawow
So tell me Dear Reader, have you ticked a lot off your 2016 bucket list? Are you a golfer? And what is your favourite island destination?
